How to Write a Tableau Administrator Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters will see. And if they’re not compelling, you’ll lose the chance to make a lasting impression.

The best way to make your bullet points stand out is to use specific numbers and statistics. For example, rather than saying you “managed daily operations of large data warehouse,” you could say you “managed daily operations of large data warehouse, overseeing more than 200 terabytes of data and ensuring timely delivery of more than 1,000 reports each day for 2,000+ users.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides a clear picture of what you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a Tableau administrator role, your resume is likely to be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs rank resumes based on how many of the desired keywords are found on the resume. If your resume doesn’t have enough relevant keywords, the ATS might not forward it to the hiring manager.

The best way to make sure your resume contains the right keywords is to read through a few job postings and take note of the terms that keep popping up. Then, use those same terms when you’re writing your resume. Here are some common keywords for Tableau administrator roles:

  • Tableau Server
