4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Employers ask this question to learn more about your career goals. They want to know if you plan on staying with the company for a long time or if you’re looking for something temporary. When answering, be honest and specific about what you hope to achieve in the next few years.

Example: “I see myself as an advertising executive at Viant by 2022. I would like to work my way up through the ranks until I’m leading a team of my own. I think that working here will help me get there because of all the opportunities available.”

5. Describe an experience where you had to deal with a difficult client, how did you handle it?

6. How would you try to convince someone that they should use our software over our competitors’?

This question is a great way to test your knowledge of the company and its competitors. It also shows that you are willing to go above and beyond for clients, which can be an important quality in salespeople.

Example: “I would first ask them what they’re looking for in their advertising software. Then I’d compare our features with those of our competitors’ to show how Viant’s platform offers more value than other companies. For example, if someone was looking for a program that could help them create ads on social media, I would explain that Viant has a feature that allows users to do just that.”

7. Tell me about a time when you were working on a team project and there was conflict, how did you handle it?

Example: “My coworkers would say my biggest strength is my ability to work well under pressure. I am always willing to take on extra projects or help out when needed, which has helped me develop strong relationships with many of my coworkers. This skill has also helped me succeed in previous roles where I was responsible for completing large amounts of work.”

9. What is one thing we can improve upon as a company?

This question is a great way to show your willingness to provide constructive feedback. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention something that you noticed during your time at the company or while researching about the organization.

Example: “One thing I noticed when looking through Viant’s website and social media accounts was that there are no links to any of your privacy policies. This is important information for consumers to know, so I would suggest adding links to all of your online platforms.”

10. Do you have any experience using mobile advertising platforms?

12. Are you comfortable taking initiative?

This can be an important quality for employees in advertising, as they may need to make decisions about which ads to run or what content to promote without always having their manager’s input.

13. Would you consider yourself a creative person? Give an example of a time when you used creativity to solve a problem.

14. What tools do you use to measure campaign success?

This allowed us to collaborate and support one another while also meeting our individual goals.”

17. How often do you like to be in contact with your team when working on a project?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you interact with your team and whether you prefer to work independently or in a group. Your answer should show that you value teamwork and collaboration, but also that you are comfortable working alone when necessary.

Example: “I like to be in contact with my team as often as possible because I find it helpful to bounce ideas off of others and get feedback on what I’m doing. 18. Can you give us an example of how you managed a large workload?

This question is a great way to show your ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention the specific skills you used to complete the task successfully.

Example: “In my previous role as an advertising manager for a large company, I was responsible for managing several campaigns at once. One of these campaigns required me to create ads that would run on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. To ensure all of our marketing efforts were successful, I delegated tasks among my team members so we could work on each campaign simultaneously. This allowed us to meet all of our deadlines while still creating high-quality content.”

19. What makes you different from other applicants?

Employers ask this question to learn more about your personality and how you stand out from other applicants. To answer this question, think of a unique quality or skill that makes you different from others. You can also talk about any awards or honors you have received in the past.

Example: “I am an extremely organized person who is always on time. I know how important it is to be punctual for work, so I make sure to arrive at my scheduled meetings early. In college, I was awarded with the ‘Most Organized Student’ award because of my ability to stay on top of all my assignments.”

20. What are some qualities you look for in a sales representative?

This question can help the interviewer get a better idea of your sales skills and how you would fit into their company. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention qualities that are important for any type of job, such as communication, organization and time management.

Example: “I look for someone who is confident in their abilities but also open to feedback. I think it’s important to have a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn. I also value people who are organized and good at managing their time. These skills are useful in any sales position.”
