BP Interview Process

14. In which area of engineering are you most interested?

15. What can you tell me about this position?

16. What makes you unique as an engineer?

This question is an opportunity to show your personality and creativity. You can talk about a time you used your engineering skills in a unique way or how you solved a problem that was outside of the norm.

Example: “I once had to design a new system for a client who wanted a gas station with no lines. I created a system where customers could pay at their pump, which would send payment information directly to the register inside the store. This allowed the customer to skip the line and get on their way quickly.”

17. Do you have any experience with project management?

This question can help the interviewer determine if you have experience with a specific skill that’s important for this role. If you do, share an example of how you used it to complete your project on time and within budget. If you don’t have any experience with project management, explain what skills you possess that are similar.

Example: “I’ve worked as a team leader in my current position, so I’m familiar with some aspects of project management. For instance, I regularly set goals for my team members and check in with them throughout the day to see how they’re doing. I also make sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities and provide support when needed.”

18. Can you recall a time when you had to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you manage your time and stay organized. Use examples from previous work experiences to show that you are capable of managing multiple tasks at once.

Example: “In my last position, I had to balance several projects at once while also meeting deadlines for each project. I created a calendar where I could write down all of my due dates so I could keep track of when I needed to complete certain tasks. 19. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

This question is a common one in interviews, and it’s important to prepare for it. When answering this question, you should focus on your strengths while also being honest about any weaknesses that you have.

Example: “I am very organized and detail-oriented, which helps me stay focused during my workday. I’m always willing to help others when they need assistance, but sometimes I can be too helpful and take on more than I can handle. I’ve learned to ask for help from coworkers when I feel like I might be overworking myself.”

20. Tell us why you think you’d be a good fit for the company.
