2. How would you go about completing an engineering project within restraints regarding time and money?

Example: “In my last position as an engineer for a small company, I was tasked with creating a new product that would increase sales by 20%. 3. What are some of the strengths and weaknesses of Entergy?

Example: “One of Entergy’s greatest strengths is its commitment to customer service. I’ve worked with other companies where customer service was lacking, so it’s refreshing to see a company that puts customers first. One weakness I’ve noticed in my time here is the lack of diversity among employees. I think it would be beneficial for the company to implement programs that encourage more diverse hiring practices.”

4. Tell me about a time where you had to deal with someone who was rude or difficult, how did you handle it?

5. Tell us what you know about nuclear power.

Nuclear power is a major part of Entergy’s business, so the interviewer wants to make sure you understand how it works and what its benefits are. Use your answer to explain why nuclear power is important and describe any experience you have with it.

Example: “I know that nuclear power plants generate electricity by splitting uranium atoms in a controlled environment. This process releases heat, which turns water into steam, which then drives turbines to create energy. 6. Do you have any experience working in customer service? If so, tell me about it.

Employers ask this question to see how you’ve used your customer service skills in the past and whether they think you can apply them to their company. If you don’t have any previous experience working in customer service, you can talk about how you would use your communication skills to help customers.

I learned that it’s important to be friendly and helpful when talking with customers so they feel comfortable asking questions or requesting assistance.”

7. Have you ever had to work on a team that wasn’t performing well? How did you handle it?

9. What parts of electrical engineering interest you the most?

They want to know how you will perform in a fast-paced environment and if you have the skills necessary to succeed at Entergy. In your answer, try to explain that you are comfortable working under pressure and can handle multiple tasks at once.

Example: “I am used to working under pressure because I’ve been doing it for years. When I was an engineer at my previous company, we were always expected to meet deadlines. I think I would be able to handle the same expectations here at Entergy.”

12. We’re looking for people to join our IT department who are very technically skilled and creative. Why do you think you would be a good fit?

13. What makes you stand out from other candidates applying for this position?

Example: “I have five years of experience in customer service, which is exactly what this role requires. I am also highly organized and detail-oriented, so I would be able to keep track of all important information for my clients. In addition, I am passionate about helping others and providing excellent customer service.”

14. In addition to being technical, we want our engineers to also be able to communicate effectively. Are you comfortable speaking in front of large groups?

This question is an opportunity to show your communication skills. You can describe a time when you had to give a presentation or speak in front of a large group and how you overcame any challenges that came with it.

Example: “I have experience speaking in front of large groups, but I also understand the importance of preparing for these types of situations. Before every major presentation, I spend at least two hours practicing my speech and making sure I know exactly what I’m going to say. This helps me feel more confident during the actual presentation.”

15. We don’t want our employees to leave after six months, what would make you stay at Entergy long term?

This question is a great way to show your interest in the company and how you plan on contributing. It’s also an opportunity for you to talk about what you like about Entergy, which can help you stand out from other candidates.

Example: “I’m excited to work at a company that values its employees so much. I’ve heard many stories of people who have been here for decades because they love working here. 16. Tell me about a time where you had to use critical thinking skills to solve a problem.

They were calling in multiple times about this issue, so I decided to call them back to see if they would be willing to speak with me over the phone instead of coming into the office. This allowed us to resolve the issue quickly without wasting time or money on gas for the client. It also helped me avoid any potential conflicts that may have arisen during an in-person visit.”

17. Give an example of a time where you gave constructive feedback to a teammate.

When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention a specific example of how you helped your teammate improve their performance. This can show the interviewer that you are willing to help others and that you have experience giving constructive feedback.

Example: “In my last position as an accountant, I noticed one of my coworkers was making some mistakes in their work. Instead of just telling them about the mistake, I asked if they would like me to go over their work with them so they could learn from their mistakes. They agreed, and we spent time going over their work together. After doing this for a few weeks, they were able to correct most of their mistakes on their own.”

18. What are your thoughts on sustainability?

This question is a great way to gauge your knowledge of the company’s values. If you’re applying for an environmental position, it can be beneficial to highlight your experience with sustainability initiatives.

Example: “I believe that we have a responsibility to preserve our planet and its resources. I’ve worked on several projects in my career where we implemented sustainable practices. For example, when I was working at a local power plant, I helped implement solar panels to reduce energy costs and increase efficiency. These efforts saved the company thousands of dollars each year.”

19. Why should we choose you over other candidates?

This question is a great way to show your confidence and enthusiasm for the position. When answering this question, it can be helpful to highlight some of your most relevant skills or experiences that relate to the job description.

Example: “I am confident that I would make an excellent addition to Entergy because of my ability to work well with others and solve problems. Throughout my career, I have developed strong communication and problem-solving skills that allow me to collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers. 20. What kind of computer programs have you used before?

The interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience using the computer programs they use at Entergy. If you don’t, it’s important to show that you’re willing to learn new programs and adapt to different systems.
