As an Exchange administrator, you will be responsible for managing user accounts, monitoring email traffic, and ensuring the security of the email system.
When you are applying for an Exchange administrator position, you will be asked a variety of questions about your technical skills and experience. You will also be asked questions about your ability to work in a team environment and handle customer inquiries. I find Windows Server to be an excellent server platform because of its ability to scale up and down depending on the needs of the business. However, I prefer using Exchange because of its ease of use and the many features it offers.”

Example: “The most important skills for an Exchange administrator include communication, problem-solving and technical skills. After resolving the issue, I will ensure that the user has access to their mailbox again.”

It also contains all the configuration settings for these resources. An exchange server is an application that provides messaging services such as email, calendars and contacts. The active directory and the exchange server work together to provide centralized management of user accounts and shared resources.”

They’re also easier to maintain since I can access them remotely.”
This question is a great way to test your knowledge of the migration process. You can answer this question by describing the steps you would take and how long it would take for each step.
Example: “I would first create a new database in the destination server, then I would export all data from the source server’s mailbox store into the newly created database on the destination server. Next, I would import the exported data into the target server’s mailbox store. Finally, I would remove the old database from the source server.”
This question is an opportunity to show your problem-solving skills and ability to work with people. Your answer should include a step-by-step process for how you would troubleshoot the issue, communicate with the user and resolve the issue.
Example: “I would first check if there are any issues with the user’s Outlook client by running the test E-mail AutoConfiguration (EAC) tool. If I find that the Outlook client is working properly, then I will run the Test-OutlookConnectivity cmdlet in PowerShell to see if the mailbox can be accessed through PowerShell. If it cannot be accessed, then I will use the New-MailboxRepairRequest cmdlet to repair the mailbox. Once the mailbox has been repaired, I will restart the Outlook client and check if the mailbox is accessible. If it still isn’t accessible, then I will create another Repair Request.”
The interviewer may ask this question to assess your knowledge of the Exchange platform and how it has changed over time. Your answer should include a brief overview of each version, including when they were released and what features they included.
Example: “I have used all versions of Exchange since 2003, starting with Exchange 5.5. I find that each new version improves on the previous one by adding more functionality and streamlining processes. PowerShell is a scripting language that allows administrators to automate tasks and manage Exchange servers. Your interviewer may ask this question to determine your experience with PowerShell, as well as how you use it in your daily work. In your answer, try to include the level of expertise you have with PowerShell and any specific examples of when you used it to improve your job performance.
Example: “I’ve been using PowerShell for three years now, and I find it an extremely useful tool for managing Exchange servers. For example, one time my manager asked me to check on all of our mailboxes to see if they were set up correctly.
