Electric stackers represent the next step up in vertical reach capability and are often confused with standard pallet jacks. These machines feature a fixed mast and are designed for low-to-medium height stacking, typically reaching up to 12 to 20 feet.

For facilities requiring access to high-bay racking systems, two other categories of equipment are used. Reach trucks are specialized machines designed for narrow-aisle operations, featuring an extendable mast that allows the forks to reach into the racking, commonly achieving lift heights of 30 feet or more.
