You can view your full credit or debit card number, expiration date, and security code directly in the Chase Mobile app without needing your physical card. The feature is available for most Chase credit and debit cards, and it takes just a few taps once you’re signed in.
Finding Your Card Details in the App
Open the Chase Mobile app and sign in with your username and password, or use Face ID or fingerprint recognition if you have that set up. From the main screen, tap on the account tied to the card you want to view. For a credit card, tap the credit card account directly. For a debit card, tap your checking account first.
Once you’re on the account screen, look for the option to view your card details. Chase typically displays a digital image of your card. Tap “Show card number” or a similar prompt, and the app will reveal your full card number, expiration date, and CVV (the three-digit security code on the back). You may be asked to verify your identity again before the number appears, which is a standard security step.
This is especially useful when you’re shopping online and don’t have your physical card nearby, or if you’ve just been approved for a new card and want to start using it before the plastic arrives in the mail.
Using Card Info With a Digital Wallet
If your goal is to start making payments right away rather than copying your card number manually, you can push your card directly into Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay from inside the Chase app. This saves you from typing in the card details yourself.
To set this up, sign in to the Chase Mobile app and tap on your credit card account or, for a debit card, tap your checking account. Swipe up to “Manage account” and tap “Digital Wallets.” You’ll see a list of available digital wallets along with any cards you’ve already added. Tap the wallet you want, select the card, and accept the terms if prompted. Your card will appear in your digital wallet within seconds, ready for contactless payments in stores and online checkouts.
When Your Card Number Doesn’t Match
Keep in mind that the card number you see in the app for online purchases may differ from the number used for in-store tap payments. Chase sometimes assigns separate card details for digital transactions to add a layer of fraud protection. If you’re making a return at a store and the cashier asks for the card number you paid with, the number shown under your card details in the app might not match. In that case, find the original transaction in your activity feed, tap on it, and look for the “Card ending with” detail to confirm which number was used.
If You Can’t See Your Card Info
A few things can prevent the card details from showing up. Make sure your Chase Mobile app is updated to the latest version, since older versions may not support the virtual card view. If you just opened a new account or were issued a replacement card, it can take a short time before the new details populate in the app.
If the option still doesn’t appear, try signing out and back in. You can also call the number on the back of your card (or the number listed in the app under “Contact Us”) to have a representative read you the card number over the phone after verifying your identity. Chase’s automated phone system can sometimes provide card details as well, though navigating the app is usually faster.
