What would you do if you noticed a fellow nurse or caregiver was struggling with their workload?

Example: “If I noticed a fellow nurse or caregiver was struggling with their workload, I would first offer to help them by taking on some of their responsibilities. If they needed more time to complete the task, I would work with them to find an alternative solution, such as delegating the task to another coworker or hiring temporary staff. I believe it’s important for all members of the team to support each other and ensure we’re all able to perform our jobs effectively.”

How well do you work with others, both inside and outside of the healthcare facility?

Example: “I am an excellent communicator, which is one of the most important qualities in an ADN. I know how to speak with patients and their families about their care plans and explain complex medical information in ways that are easy to understand. This skill has helped me build strong relationships with my patients and their loved ones, which makes it easier to meet their needs and ensure they feel comfortable asking questions.”

Which nursing specialty interests you the most and why?

This question helps the interviewer determine your level of interest in working as an assistant director of nursing. Example: “I would first make sure that all of my staff members were aware of the new disease and its symptoms. I would then hold a meeting with all nursing staff where I explained the disease in detail and provided them with information on how to protect themselves from contracting it. I would also provide each nurse with an individualized plan for how they can care for patients while still protecting themselves.”
