How to Write a Childcare Assistant Director Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing bullet points, it can be tempting to simply list your responsibilities. But that’s not enough to make a strong impression. Instead, you should use your bullet points to demonstrate your value by including quantifiable details about your work.

For example, rather than saying you “provided childcare services for children ages 3-5,” you could say that you “provided childcare services for 15 children ages 3-5, resulting in a 95% attendance rate for the summer program.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific details about the project and the outcome. And it also includes a quantifiable result—an attendance rate of 95%. That’s much more interesting and compelling than just saying you did something!

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a childcare assistant director role, your resume is likely to go through an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program will scan your resume for specific keywords related to the job, like “child care” or “early childhood education.” If your resume doesn’t have enough relevant keywords, the ATS might automatically reject your application.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, use this list of common childcare assistant director keywords to help you add them into your resume:

  • Child Care

Showcase Your Technical Skills

These programs might include a childcare management system, a payroll system, and an accounting program. You will also need to be familiar with the various types of educational software that are used in childcare centers.
