Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing bullet points, it can be tempting to focus on the responsibilities of your job. But that’s not enough to make a strong impression. Instead, you should focus on the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “managed accounts payable,” you could say that you “reduced accounts payable by 15% in first six months, contributing to company’s record-breaking year-end financial results.”

The second bullet point paints a clear picture of what you did and how it contributed to the company’s success. And it provides a quantifiable result (15% reduction in accounts payable).

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a commercial real estate analyst role, your resume is likely to be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs rank resumes based on how many of the desired keywords are found throughout the document.

Since every company has its own unique set of keywords, it’s important to carefully review the job posting before you submit your resume.
