How to Download Chase Bank Statements as PDF or CSV

You can download Chase bank statements by logging into your account at chase.com, navigating to the account you need, and selecting the Statements option. Chase keeps up to 7 years of statements available online, depending on your account type, and every statement downloads as a PDF file you can save or print.

Downloading Statements on the Chase Website

Sign in at chase.com and select the checking, savings, or credit card account you want a statement for. From the account page, click on “Statements” (sometimes labeled “Statements & documents”). You’ll see a list of available statements organized by date. Click on the one you need, and it will open as a PDF in your browser. From there, use your browser’s download or save button to store the file on your computer.

If you need statements from a previous year, look for a year selector or dropdown that lets you browse further back. Chase provides access to statements going back up to 7 years, though the exact range depends on your account type and when you enrolled in paperless delivery. Statements generated before you signed up for online access may not appear.

Using the Chase Mobile App

Open the Chase app on your phone and tap the account you need. Look for the “Statements & documents” option within the account details. Tap the statement you want to view, and it will open as a PDF inside the app. On most phones, you can then tap a share or download icon to save the file to your device, send it to yourself via email, or store it in a cloud service like Google Drive or iCloud.

The mobile app gives you access to the same statement history as the desktop site. If you’re downloading multiple months of statements, the desktop site is generally faster since you can open and save each PDF without switching between screens.

Downloading Transaction Data in Other Formats

PDF statements show the same formatted document your bank would have mailed you, but sometimes you need raw transaction data for budgeting software or a spreadsheet. Chase lets you export account activity in formats beyond PDF. From the account activity page on chase.com, look for a “Download” or “Export” link. You’ll typically see options like CSV (which opens in Excel or Google Sheets), QFX (for Quicken), and QBO (for QuickBooks).

These transaction exports are different from your official statement. They give you individual transaction rows you can sort, filter, and categorize, but they won’t include the formatted summary, opening and closing balances, or the bank’s branding that a PDF statement has. If you need an official record for a landlord, mortgage lender, or tax filing, use the PDF version.

How Far Back Statements Go

Chase makes up to 7 years of statements available for download online. The actual range depends on your account type, how long you’ve had the account, and whether you’ve been enrolled in paperless statements. Credit card accounts, checking accounts, and savings accounts may each have slightly different availability windows.

If you need a statement older than what’s available online, you can request a paper copy. Chase will mail it to your address on file, typically within 10 business days. There may be a fee for ordering older paper statements, so check the current charges before submitting your request. You can usually start this process from the Statements page by clicking a link like “order a statement copy.”

Chase Business and Commercial Accounts

Business account holders follow a similar path but through a slightly different interface. From the My Accounts page in Chase Commercial Online, choose the account and click the “Statements” link. An exclamation point icon appears next to accounts that have a new statement you haven’t viewed yet. Select the year you need, then click “view” next to the specific statement.

Business accounts also let you order paper copies online. You can request a single statement by selecting the month and year, or request multiple statements by entering a date range. Copies arrive by mail within 10 business days.

If you need check images or deposit slips for a business account, go to the account activity page and click “view” next to the individual transaction. For older check images, use the “Search for checks” tool in the Check and Statement Services section. You can search by date range, check number, or amount. Once you find what you need, select the checks and click “Create PDF” to generate a downloadable document, which Chase delivers to your secure message center.

Tips for Organizing Your Downloads

If you’re downloading several months or years of statements at once, create a folder on your computer organized by year and account. Name each file with the account type and statement date (for example, “Chase-Checking-2024-06.pdf”) so you can find it quickly later. Most browsers save downloads to a generic “Downloads” folder, so move the files promptly before they get buried.

For tax season, you’ll typically need 12 months of statements for each account. Start from January of the tax year and work forward. If you’re providing statements to a lender for a mortgage or loan application, most lenders ask for the two or three most recent months, and they usually want the full PDF version rather than a CSV export.
