When you’re writing bullet points for your resume, it can be tempting to simply list your responsibilities and duties. But that’s not enough to make a hiring manager take notice. Instead, you should use your bullet points to demonstrate how you’ve used your skills and experience to achieve specific results.
For example, rather than saying you “installed lighting fixtures,” you could say you “installed 150 lighting fixtures in new construction project on schedule and under budget.”
The second bullet point paints a clear picture of what the project was, how many fixtures were involved, and the outcome of your work. That’s much more interesting and compelling than just saying you did some work!
Identify and Include Relevant Keywords
When you submit your resume for a roping access technician role, it’s likely that the recruiter will use an applicant tracking system (ATS) to screen candidates.
